I will be ordering my bobbi bear pattern this week! I have purchased some Lion Brand Thick -n - Quick yarn - getting set to get started!! Could we make a post about converting the pattern to accommodate a different guage that one might get with a different yarn? I consider myself a decent enough knitter, but haven't had to do any converting yet...

I would think (and someone tell me if I'm wrong... I am a new knitter) that as long as you're getting consistent gauge, that the only significant differences between your bear and the one in the pattern would be size and as a result, possibly yardage.

The only gauge you need to worry about is row gauge. To fix it just convert the inches into rows. Since the row gauge is 10 rows = 4", one inch would be 2.5 rows. Making the body 5" long or 12.5 rows. This should keep things in the proper perspective. I started my Bobbi Bear last night using this method. If you need any help or if my math is wonky let me know. *smile*
